The Garden City Store

Located on the northern side of the island,  the “Garden City Store” is Belle Isle’s newest, and arguably one of our proudest, amenities.  Meticulously designed with the intention of providing an enjoyable gathering space for our large groups, the “Garden City Store” boasts a full scale, commercial style kitchen, dining area, entertainment area and wrap-around porch. 

The building itself has a rich history dating back to its founding in the late 19th century.  Originally established as a small local store in Garden City, Louisiana, where Chet’s mother is from, the store itself has a special sentiment to Chet and his family.  In 2020, Chet purchased the building, transported it to the island, restored and repurposed it.  Now sitting atop a hill nestled under two large oak trees, the xx square foot, two-story building provides comfortable accommodations for friends and family to relax together, unwind and soak up history.
